ACT: Regulatory Oversight Should Be Subcontracted To Wilson Parking

The ACT Party is pushing for oversight of all new regulations to be subcontracted out to Wilson Parking.

The move, the next phase of ACT’s campaign to take the ‘public’ out of ‘public interest’, comes in the wake of the party’s promotion of the Regulatory Standards (Deceptively Boring But Surprisingly Nasty) Bill.

In a post on TikTok, ACT leader and coalition organ-grinder David Seymour enthused that Wilson Parking’s corporate culture would remove the fallible ‘human’ factor from regulations.

'Whether they're immobilising your car or just charging an exorbitant fee for overstaying your time by a matter of minutes, Wilson Parking demonstrate a commendable commitment to not giving a flying frack about any other circumstances.’

'Visiting your grandmother in hospital and the surgeon was late on her rounds? Not within their purview. Broke a heel and had to hobble six blocks back to your vehicle? Sad, but irrelevant.'

'Wilson Parking's unflinching ability to remain totally focussed on the enforcement of private contractual and property rights makes them ideally placed to guide all future regulatory reform, while delivering a middle finger to wider considerations.’

Here comes that one-large-coffee-a-month paywall! But this is free to share, down to here
