So you want to pitch me an idea for a movie? What’s it about?

It’s a cross between Planes Trains and Automobiles and The Twilight Zone.

You have my attention.

It’s the story of a man. An ambitious man. A laser-focused man. A man who grapples his way up the corporate ladder, past the rungs of Deodorants and Personal Grooming, until one day he is running an airline.

A story of grit and determination! And how does he run the airline?

He cuts flights to non-profitable regional destinations.

I’m not feeling the love.

This is just the first act! Next thing he cuts the airline too. Ditches it. Leaves it behind him. Because now he’s prime minister of an entire country.

He is ambitious.

And laser-focused. And ruthless.

And he rules the country with an iron fist?

Well, actually he rules the country with a couple of sidekicks who are going to cause trouble in the sequel, but that’s not important right now. Because he sets about the country like he set about the airline.

Cutting flights?

Cutting costs. Until one day –

Is this the twist?

Yes, this is the twist. One day he finds himself in a faraway foreign land. And the government plane that he has relied upon to fly him there breaks down.
