Poll: Simeon Brown Just Trolling Us Now

In the wake of Simeon Brown proposing a four-lane, four-kilometre, umpteen-billion-dollar road tunnel under the city of Wellington, 60% of respondents in a new poll believe the Minister of Transport is just trolling us all now.

Asked which phrase best describes their reaction to Mr Brown’s announcement, 32% chose ‘Surely he can’t be serious’ with a further 28% opting for ‘This man is definitely taking the piss’.

A minority of those polled did not believe the Wellington Long Tunnel proposal was an obvious wind-up, with 13% responding ‘He is serious and don’t call him Shirley’, 11% saying ‘Frankly I wouldn’t put it past him’ and 10% opting for ‘Look I know it sounds bananas but I think he really believes this’.

The remaining 4% of respondents were equally divided between ‘Don’t Know’, ‘Don’t Care’ and ‘Too busy staring into the actual looming existential void we’re all facing to contemplate this imaginary one’.
